Terror Behind the Walls
Eastern State Penitentiary, Historic Site Inc. Costume Designer, Keith Lambert Assistant Costume Designer, Wendy Michelle Hou Eastern State Penitentiary's seasonal and nationally top ranked horror attraction, Terror Behind the Walls (TBTW) is a historical abandoned prison, which held famous criminals such as Al Capone. TBTW is not only ranked #1 in America but is also the largest haunted attraction with 6 different themed zones taking 45 - 60 minutes to go through. Pictured are just a small handful of the costumes made at Eastern State Penitentiary. |

Directed by Dawn Morningstar Upper Darby Summer Stage Costume Shop Assistant & Dresser, Wendy Michelle Hou Worked as one of the costume shop assistants for the 39th season of Upper Darby Summer Stage for all 6 of the children's theater productions as well as the main stage show, Shrek the Musical. Helped build costumes for Shrek The Musical and also worked backstage for all show nights as wardrobe crew. Some costumes built from scratch by Wendy include two of Fiona's ogre fat suits, Fiona's human green dress with corset, and many more. |

This included several military coats, a petticoat, attached fur collar to a coat, hemmed pants, etc. Some garments such as the period skirts and an elaborate and elegant robe were made from scratch. A few other responsibilities include maintaining the costumes by laundering, ironing and steaming garments between shows as well as any repairs. |

Arden Theatre Company Directed by Lucie Tiberghien Costume Shop Assistant, Wendy Michelle Hou Production from Wuiara Alegria Hudes's play, a 2012 pulitzer prize winner. As the costume assistant, I altered several garments to tailor the fit to specific actors. Alterations included: hemming pants, taking in dresses, shortening sleeves to button up shirts, etc. Some other responsibilities include maintaining costumes by laundering and ironing between shows as well as any repairs throughout the show. The play is an emotional drama that follows an Iraq war veteran who is struggling with civilian life. His story runs in parallel with those of four individuals who connect on an online chat room dedicated to recovering drug addicts. |

Some other responsibilities include maintaining the costumes by laundering and ironing between shows as well as repairing garments as needed. The books and play adaptation tell the many stories of a school built as a tower 30 stories high, with one room per story, but no 19th story. |
